Between record high gas prices and the new increased sales tax, filling up at the pump is painful. It's clear: Hoosiers deserve a break.
Jill's plan to cap the sales tax on gasonline would provide nearly $100 million in relief to Hoosier motorists. And while Indiana's economy continues to suffer through the Bush-Daniels era, the increased sales tax is hitting Hoosiers when they least need it.
As gas prices go up, so does the cost of everything else - and that's hurting working families. Hoosiers shouldn't be forced to choose between paying for food, medicine, clothing and getting to work. By providing this assistance, we'll not only give Hoosiers a break, we'll stimulate the economy as they put those dollars to use in other ways.
